Spanning three generations the vineyard is owned and run by the Fisher family. Nick's father Colin is the main driving force on the vineyard and is rarely far from the vines or winery.
Our aspiration was to grow new grape varieties previously untested in the Nelson region and to have the wine made locally. However, we quickly realised that small vineyards are totally dependent on winery timetables and requirements.
The best wine is made from the best grapes harvested at precisely the right time. Unwilling to have this critical element of wine making jeopardised by others, we decided to make our own wine. How hard could it be!
