Spanning three generations the vineyard is owned and run by the Fisher family. Nick's father Colin was the main driving force on the vineyard and was rarely far from the vines or winery until he passed away in 2025.
Our aspiration was to grow new grape varieties previously untested in the Nelson region and to have the wine made locally. However, we quickly realised that small vineyards are totally dependent on large winery timetables and requirements.
The best wine is made from the best grapes harvested at precisely the right time. Unwilling to have this critical element of wine making jeopardised by others, we decided to make our own wine starting in 2007. How hard could it be!
